Program Description: The department focuses its graduate teaching and research programs in the following areas: digital image and signal processing, fault-tolerant computing, software engineering, distributed systems (software), simulation, theory and implementation of (functional) languages, algorithm design and analysis. The programme offers at both the introductory and intermediate levels in the above areas. Graduate courses leading to research topics are at the forefront of current knowledge and technology. Guided individual study projects, available in graduate courses, provide opportunities for student participation in research activities in the department and in the university. In the graduate program, original research in close association with individual faculty members is always emphasized.

We aim to trains engineers who can produce strategies, devices and solutions aimed for diagnosis and therapy for the health sector by applying engineering principles in life sciences; will develop new products and can make designs in order to improve current products; have high professional and ethical standards.

Program Description: The programme provides professional training, and participation actively in applied and theoretical research as well as knowledge of basic sciences, such as mathematics, physics and chemistry together with an understanding of economics, social sciences and humanities. The curriculum concentrates on fundamentals of the department such as analog electronics, circuit theory, and digital circuits and systems. Selection of advanced courses in the areas of communication systems, image and video processing, speech processing, biomedical instruments, microwave theory and optical communication are available. Young graduates are able to find jobs in the areas of academy, IT, defense industries, communication companies, computer sciences and biomedical engineering related jobs.

Program Description: The program is suitable for academic developments since it is based on interdisciplinary collaborations. We strongly believe that the establishment of the department is important and beneficial since it is an integration of fundamental sciences (physics, chemistry and maths) and engineering programmes (Chemical Engineering, Electrical-Electronical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering). The major fields of research include renewable energy technologies, design of energy production systems/units and their modications and improvements, energy storage and design of energy materials. Graduates have sufficient theoretical and practical background for a successful profession and with application skills of fundamental scientific knowledge in the engineering practice, have skills and professional background in describing, formulating, modeling and analyzing the energy engineering problem, with a consideration for appropriate analytical solutions in all necessary situations, have necessary technical, academic and practical knowledge and application confidence in the design and assessment of machines or mechanical systems or industrial processes with considerations of productivity, feasibility and environmental and social aspects.

Program Description: The department focuses to educate students as well-informed intellectual individuals that reflect scientific and technological developments to the society. All subjects covered in the contemporary physics courses are supported by laboratory studies. The department defines physical principles and applies these principles to engineering practices, describes engineering problems of physics engineering, examines physical events by using mathematics knowledge, find and apply proper theories and approaches to the complicated problems on physics engineering. The Engineering Physics students are required to take classes and lab courses in four years as well as performing 45 days internship in a company in order to graduate and get a Bachelor of (Science) Engineering Physics title. After completing their undergraduate education students can continue their graduate studies by joining Master of Science program (MSc) and later Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program leading Master of Engineering Physics and PhD of Engineering Physics degrees, respectively.

Program Description: The curriculum starts with fundamental courses including mathematics, physics, chemistry, and follows with basic engineering courses including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, energy and mass balance, reaction kinetics, unit operations, and finally completed with food chemistry, food microbiology, food analysis, food quality control in the food science field, and cereal technology, fruit and vegetable processing, meat technology, fats and oil technology, and dairy technology in the food technology field. Also, many elective courses in the field of social sciences are available. The projects focus on chemical composition of food, food microbiology, food safety, shelf-life study of food, process improvement, and product development. Graduates with a degree in Food Engineering work for a variety of organizations including research laboratories, food production plants, academic and governmental institutions, and auditing companies. Also, the graduates can start own business such as on consulting, and project development.

Program Description: Major branches of the department are General Geology, Mineralogy and Petrography, Geochemistry and Ore Deposits and Applied Geology. The program aims to teach the material of the Earth, the fields of physics that act on the earth’s crust, the history of the place, the fossilized life forms, the chemistry of the material that makes up the earth, explore the water, mineral resources and oil deposits in the Earth’s crust. To be able to foresee the earthquake of crust’s dynasty, to be able to foresee the dangers that will affect human life. To be able to determine infrastructural instabilities for engineering works and to plan engineering designs for their measures. To produce geological maps showing various features of crust. To train geological engineers who can use modern engineering tools and methods for all these studies, who can observe human health, safety, and aim to learn lifelong. Geological Engineering use mathematical, scientific and engineering knowledge in resolving Geological Engineering problems. Define processes of Geological Engineering and apply them in the working field. Examine the contributions of engineering solutions to health, safety and environmental issues. Design architecture of earth in three dimensions.

Program Description: The program provides students with strong fundamental knowledge on basic sciences as physics, chemistry and mathematics and then more advanced courses are offered. Among these are conservation of mass and energy, separation processes, reaction engineering, thermodynamics, transfer of heat, mass and fluents, process design and control, all of which constitute the base of the education. Technical facilities, computers and laboratories are widely used in teaching to promote the quality of education. The department focuses to graduate students; with strong knowledge in chemical engineering and ability to apply this knowledge to the analysis, design, operation and control of the systems, with skills to perform in public and private sector in operation, management or research positions in the field of chemical engineering and related areas such as food engineering, environmental engineering , biochemical engineering and process system engineering, with the ability to fit in teams both as a member and as a leader, having the faculty to teach and lead research work in other universities, with respectable personality, life-long learning intention, environmental and societal awareness. Graduates are able to make researches on the production of the desired products and related production processes and then helps to design and set up the systems in an environmentally friendly and economical way and also make suggestions to the authorities of plants.
