A symposium titled “1915: The Longest Century of the Ottoman Empire” will be organized at Bogotá Externado University on February 9-13, 2015, with the collaboration of Bogotá Externado University and our university’s Latin America Studies Research and Application Center.

The symposium will feature 22 speakers from 12 countries (Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Cuba, Venezuela, Spain, Bulgaria, Canada, Turkey, Peru, Costa Rika and Chile), 7 from Turkey and 15 from other nations. The symposium aims to contribute to the better understanding of the events of 1915, in Colombia and in other Latin American countries.

Ankara University will be represented by Rector Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş and other academics.
