Program Description: Health physics as an interdisciplinary field, which includes physics, biology, chemistry, engineering and statistics components, examines and enhancesnatural and human made radiation sources, the interaction mechanisms of radiation with human and environment, techniques used for radiation detection and measurement and principles of radiation protection. The aim of the program is to educate professionals, who has a grasp of the effects of radiation on human health and environment, knows and implies the principles of radiation safety and radiation protection and trains people about these topics, uses radiation in field of medicine and environmental practices safely. The program includes theoretical and experimental lectures about the practices of radiation such as medical imaging and radiotherapy, dosimetry, retrospective dosimetry and environmental radiation measurements. The learning outcomes: imply the radiation protection principles on hazardous effects of radiation, use ionization radiation on medical and environmental practices, inform population. The graduates can work at imaging and radiotherapy departments, public and private institutes which performs quality control tests of medical imaging systems that uses radiation, organizations which specifies, implements and controls the legislations about radiation and nuclear technologies, educational institutions which supplies courses and services about radiation safety and radiation protection
